Madelene Sciortino joined IJ as Digital Media Coordinator in May 2025. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of California, Davis, and a Master of Public Health from George Washington University, where she focused on health promotion and explored how social drivers of health, such as economic stability, educational access, and the built environment, affect individual opportunity and long-term well-being.
Madelene has worked across the nonprofit sector in areas such as public health, juvenile justice, healthcare, and advocacy. Her experience includes developing digital communication strategies that translate complex issues into accessible, compelling content. With a background in content creation, social media, and audience engagement, she brings a thoughtful, mission-driven approach to storytelling. At IJ, she is excited to help expand the organization’s reach and impact through strategic digital media.
Outside of work, Madelene enjoys exploring D.C.’s neighborhoods and discovering new coffee shops, always on the hunt for the perfect iced vanilla latte.
